"Universal" is the name of their new album.

"Universal" comes just a year after the band's last album, "Immortal." It was recorded and produced at Kidroom Studio by Schenker and Michael Voss, who also sat behind the mixing desk on its predecessor and the Michael Schenker Fest albums "Resurrection" (2018) and "Revelation" (2019).

Of the collaboration, Schenker writes, "Michael Voss likes to wait until I've worked out an idea and takes the time to really get to know the song while coming up with ideas for the vocals. Then we work out the drum, bass and some keyboard parts together. He always has a lot of great ideas up his sleeve."

Schenker gets musical support on "Universal" from vocalists Ronnie Romero (Rainbow) as the main vocalist, as well as Michael Kiske (Helloween) and Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), keyboardist Steve Mann, drummers Simon Phillips, Brian Tichy, Bobby Rondinelli and Bodo Schopf, and bassists Bob Daisley, Barry Sparks and Barend Courbois. Also featured is guest Anthony Lawrence "Tony" Carey.

A special highlight on the album is the song "Calling Baal/A King Has Gone," a tribute to the late singer Ronnie James Dio and his work with Rainbow. Schenker performs here alongside former Rainbow members Daisley, Rondinelli and Carey.
