Black Void is nihilistic aggression and despair in the form of music. Angry and unrepentant in attitude, it builds on the philosophical works of Friedrich Nietzsche and burns with the dirty flame of punk and black metal. In the midst of this grimy metaphysical whirlwind is vocalist and bassist Lars Are Nedland, longtime member of Borknagar and Solefald and the driving force behind the melodic hard rock band White Void. At the helm of a trio led by drummer Tobias Solbakk (Ihsahn, White Void, In Vain) and guitarist Jostein Thomassen (Borknagar, Profane Burial), he sets the stage for Black Void to be everything White Void is not: monochrome, nihilistic, dirty, violent and raw

Black Void, then, is the flip side of White Void: a complete rejection of the philosophy of Albert Camus, a complete rejection of a soft, melodic approach to music, and a complete rejection of a playful, tongue-in-cheek approach attitude. Black Void has the sensibility of a buzzsaw and the lightheartedness of a funeral home.

Against this backdrop, "Antithesis" becomes an album that pays respect to fifty years of punk and forty years of black metal, sounding like a punk with a Mohawk fighting a guy in corpsepaint as he races along.
